Canadian Dental Care Plan

We accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government program designed to cover a portion of dental care treatment costs for Canadians who qualify. Here’s more information about coverage details, how to apply, and how to renew your coverage.

Is the CDCP for you?

If you have a family net income of less than $90,000, and do not already have access to dental insurance, you could qualify for coverage. You must be a Canadian resident, and you must have filed a tax return in the previous year.

How much will the CDCP cover?

It depends on your income. The highest amount of coverage (100%) applies to Canadians with a net family income of less than $70,000. If your family income is $80,000 - $90,000, the CDCP will cover 40% of approved treatments.

What treatments are covered?

The plan will cover the vast majority of standard dental treatments including cleaning, sealants, and fluoride; diagnostic services such as X-rays; restorative services including fillings; root canal treatments; complete and partial removable dentures; and oral surgery services such as extractions.

How and when to apply

As of May 1, 2025, applications are open for seniors aged 65 and older, adults between 55 and 64, children under 18, and adults 18 to 54 with a valid federal Disability Tax Credit certificate. Adults between 18 and 34 will be able to apply on May 15, 2025, and adults 35 to 54 will be able to apply on May 29, 2025.

Renew your coverage by June 1, 2025!

If you're currently enrolled in the CDCP, you’ll need to renew your coverage by June 1 to make sure you continue receiving dental benefits. Before you can renew, you’ll need to file your 2024 tax return. Once you receive your Notice of Assessment from the CRA, you’ll also get a renewal letter from the Government of Canada with instructions for renewing your coverage. If you don’t renew, or no longer qualify, your CDCP coverage will be terminated on June 30, 2025.
